Success Story

Third International Symposium on Agroterrorism

Due to the generosity of the grant program at MSU-CIBER I was able to attend the Third International Symposium on Agroterrorism in Kansas City, MO. The conference was presented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Heart of American Joint Terrorism Task force with support from ASIS International. I gained valuable information that has already been useful in my position at MSU and will be of benefit to our students.

globalEDGE DIBS

Collecting, compiling, and organizing international business data is difficult and costly. Many scholars and firms do not have the resources necessary to conduct rigorous international business research. Finding comparable time series data is also a labor intensive task. These complexities often mean that international business studies include a smaller sample of countries and firms, often without the desirable power and quality. In the hopes of alleviating these data collection complexities, MSU-CIBER announces the globalEDGE Database of International Business Statistics (DIBS). Importantly, the globalEDGE DIBS is free. All interested parties can download data free of charge. The only requirement is that users must register on globalEDGE (which is also free) and provide a description of the study they are conducting using DIBS. In addition to being available free of cost, DIBS offers regular updates using robust data across a large number of variables and countries. DIBS contains multiple years of data, as well, making it a premier source for all international business students and scholars. Visit DIBS today by logging on at http://globaledge.msu.edu/resourceDesk/dibs/.
